Juvenile Court Records: Are They Accessible?
In most countries, juvenile court records are difficult to access. The legalities pertaining to releasing sealed juvenile records is different in every state. Some states allow a criminal records search when the juvenile has reached the legal age of consent, while others keep the records closed after the youth is an adult. In some cases, this can create an obstacle in serving a defendant with a just sentence. In every case, a portion of the information in the records is available.
